Spire chosen as Official Research Partner to the Challenge Iskandar Puteri triathlon once again

Spire Research and Consulting was honored to be appointed as the Official Research Partner for the Challenge Iskandar Puteri triathlon – a Challenge family sports event that covers 41 full and half triathlons in 21 countries. The event was held between 14-16 September 2018 at Puteri Harbour Marina, Malaysia. Spire Malaysia conducted online and face-to-face surveys with 262 participants of the triathlon along with 50 supporters. The surveys collected information about their demographic profile, interest in sports brands, travel choices, socio-economic status and degree of awareness about the event. The event combined fitness-oriented races with unique, themed races such as Battle of the Sexes, Corporate Relay and Pitstop challenge. In the latter case, participants get to drive their bike into the pit and replace their own tires. Spire talks about retail trends at International Franchise Conference 2018

Spire Research and Consulting group’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Bahar was honoured to be a guest speaker at the International Franchise Conference 2018. The conference was held on 21 April 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, organized by the Malaysian Franchise Association. Jeffrey Bahar shared insights on the growth of the regional retail industry, focusing on key trends and the attractiveness of various emerging markets across Asia. With global retail sales set to rise from USD25 trillion in 2018 to USD28 trillion in 2020, the Asia Pacific is expected to record USD10 trillion in retail sales by the end of 2018. Bahar highlighted that Asian players were also among the top 250 global retailers in 2016, with China’s e-commerce player JD.com and Japan’s retailer Seven & I Holdings at the 28th and 20th rankings respectively. Economics students from the University of Malaya visited Spire Malaysia for an interactive business consulting session on 17 March. Yap Far Loon, Business Development Director, Telecommunications of Spire Research and Consulting conducted the session. Spire Malaysia had the pleasure of hosting a real-world business consulting session with Economics students from the University of Malaya. The interactive session gave students an insight on the importance of applying the right theories and tools in formulating business strategies. The session focused on the realm of market research and consulting practices. Spire Malaysia invited as guest panellist to assess students at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Business School

Spire Malaysia was invited to Universiti Kuala Lumpur Business School – one of Malaysia’s leading technical universities – as a guest panellist to evaluate a social entrepreneurship pitching session by students held on 8 December. Yap Far Loon, Business Development Director, Telecommunications of Spire Research and Consulting attended the session. Spire Malaysia had the pleasure to evaluate business pitches by university students based on social entrepreneurship as part of their assessment for this subject. The 10 teams of students studying Bachelors of Business Administration were led by lecturer Muhamed Zulkiflee Osman.
